2009 Christmas Team Report


U.S. Team Members include Matt Nelson, Diane Delany, Sam Tharp, Jack & Pat O'Neill, Linda Bollinger, Gary & Barbee Elkins, and Bryan and Tracy Burleson. For several months leading up to the trip, team members collected donations of clothing, toys, and cash. Additional shopping was done in Tegucigalpa and then 2 days were spent sorting and packing 250+ gifts. Gifts were handed out in two locations, Proyecto Manuelito which served kids rescued from the streets, and Amor, Fe y Esperanza which ministers to children living in the dump. Gary Elkins played Santa (above) while the rest of the team did the heavy lifting as elves! Many new friends were made and daily we heard "Gracias a Dios", "Thanks be to God" in rejoicing at the things that He has done to improve their lives.

	Young Girls elated over new clothes! For many this was their first gift and for others their first NEW clothes. School supplies, personal hygiene items, and toys were part of the gift packs.
For more than six years, Tracy & Bryan Burleson have sponsored young Bryan. They were able to spend the week together working as team members.
